My notebook my refuge holds quiet confessions

My notebook, my refuge, holds quiet confessions,

a place where I toss all my complicated lessons,

I read an old post, laid bare on the screen,

my heart knots tight at the truth that's unseen.

You wrote about pain, something we shared,

words uncut, undressed, like spirits laid bare,

I scribble in ink what I wish I could shout,

the things left unsaid that twist me about.

If only I could, if only I'd dare,

to speak to the wind, to throw back my hair,

yet here I am, cradling phrases so raw,

those whispers of courage, but only in paw.
