Heavy Packs

I walked with purpose, yet felt the collapse,
heavy like bricks with each step, a lapse.
A promotion today, but where's the thrill?
Watching my brother run free, dreams to fulfill.
His laughter floated like paper in the breeze,
while I drown in paperwork, heavy like leaves.
And here in the city, with heads down, we move,
trapped by ambitions that make us lose.
The weight on my shoulders, it settles in stone,
like the burden of choices we make on our own.
I think of the freedom I had as a child,
as I buckle beneath the weight, feeling wild.
