Carried Through Time

Years slip by since someone lifted me high,

in the park, laughter spun light in the sky.

I saw a child, joy echoing their flight,

a tug of my heart, the longing felt right.

I remember the moment, feeling so free,

the world a soft cloud, just weightless, just me.

A swing half-empty sways in the breeze,

waiting for someone, as time drifts with ease.

With every echo of joy in the air,

I wish for the warmth of a moment to share.

But my feet touch the ground, the dream drifts away,

I’m tethered to memories where I once played.
