Fading Beauty

I walk through the garden, and time seems to freeze,
a sunflower wilting, its petals hang low.
Among vibrant blooms, it’s a whisper, a tease,
yet holds on to summer, though seasons won’t show.
Its stalk bent in silence, a soft, heavy sigh,
the warmth of the sun fades like dreams left unspooled.
There’s beauty in fading, in knowing goodbye,
reminding me gently of moments once ruled.
The laughter of youth drifts away with the breeze,
yet I stop for a moment, take note of its fall.
This sunflower’s grace, past its prime, brings me ease,
a truth in decay that says nothing at all.
