The Weight of Wanting to Fade

In the night, I dive deep into shadows,

letters linger unsent in a space I can't touch.

Wishing to slip through, where no one knows,

a soft breath, a whisper, all silence, not much.

The glow from the screen is a darkened embrace,

but words feel too heavy, too sharp to confess.

I want to dissolve, just vanish from place,

yet stay tangled in threads, clinging, I guess.

Memory echoes in corners of rooms,

full of laughter that ripples like stones in a stream.

But I sit in the quiet, consumed by the glooms,

holding tightly to wishes that dance in a dream.

Yet every wish whispered feels heavier still,

a weight on my chest, a longing to flee,

but here I remain, where I know that I will,

let these thoughts cradle me, shadows set free.
