Code of Memories

I remember the numbers, the twirl of the dial,
a locker of memories, marked by a smile.
Four digits, a code, tucked away in my brain,
a snapshot of youth, both precious and plain.
I spin it in rhythm, as fingers explore,
each click brings a memory, unlocks a door.
The laughter, the secrets, the dreams left behind,
the echo of lockers, our lives intertwined.
And though years have passed, like pages in books,
I find in this code, the comfort it took.
A combination holds more than metal and steel,
it’s moments and whispers, it’s time that can heal.
In the heart of that locker, still safe and so near,
lie pieces of me, both fragile and clear.
