Words that Hold

Leafing through pages, dust in my hand,

a single line leaps like a truth so stark.

"You’ll be the one to make life expand,"

it whispered softly, igniting a spark.

Years felt heavy like clouds before rain,

and darkness played tricks, a thief in the night.

Yet those simple words cut through the pain,

a beam in the shadows, a flicker of light.

I held that note tight in the palms of my heart,

it clung like a promise, a life to unfold.

Through the echoes of doubt, it still played a part,

reminding me always: I am brave and bold.
