Sweet Melodies

The jingle calls out, pulls me from the ground,

a whisper of summers that spun all around.

Children dart into streets, hands up high,

while I stand still, lost in the sky.

That cheerful tune fades, drifts with the breeze,

and laughter is held in the warm, rustling trees.

Memory stitches itself, bright and alive,

a moment when sweetness felt boundless to strive.

Yet here I linger, just watching them play,

a heart caught in time, in moments astray.

The echoes of joy linger like stars,

but I'm drawn to the past, forgetting the scars.
