Lines of Concern

I caught her reflection, the worry lines deep,

a landscape of stories that she couldn’t keep.

Caught in the mirror, her gaze etched in fear,

silence spoke volumes, as we both sat near.

She picked me up, from the airport's embrace,

a crumpled napkin, the remnants of grace.

A coffee untouched, cold on the seat,

the warmth in her eyes felt like bittersweet.

Every crease tells of battles fought hard,

for every small smile, there’s a life marred.

Those lines tell the truth, the weight of her heart,

I can’t find the words to play my part.

So we drive in the quiet, just memories hold,

the wrinkles of worry, a mother’s love told.
