Warm Gin

The juice was red and smelled like tin.

I poured a thumb of bathtub gin.

The garage door was a heavy weight

shut against the garden gate.

I sat upon the oily floor

and couldn't find the handle for the door.

The cracked rim of the plastic cup

was all I had to hold me up.
