Blue Dreams

Cobalt calls from a forgotten page,

flipping through colors of longing and age.

A half-empty can with a lid barely clasped,

reflects shadows of promises that faded too fast.

I drown in its depths, that endless hue,

tucked beneath layers of memories, true.

Blue like the skies of late summer days,

a palette of heartache in muted displays.

The strokes on canvas bleed memories bright,

a yearning that twinkles like stars in the night,

time blending the colors with bittersweet strokes,

what’s left in the silence is all that we hoped.
