After long hours lost in a conference room

After long hours lost in a conference room,

my spine cracks, the tightness begins to bloom.

A reminder I carry, too heavy to last,

my body jolts back, a release from the past.

The sharp crunch through my neck, fingers dig deep,

digging for relief, as though tension can keep

its grip on my mind, but I shake it away,

clenching and releasing the stresses of day.

Each breath in and out feels like it’s a fight,

the body’s language speaks of surrendering light.

If only they knew that this wave after strain

is a dance of revival, the body’s own gain.
