Reaching out for ghosts that never reply

Reaching out for ghosts that never reply,

the line cuts, leaving only a tone,

that empty drone fills the void,

   a haunting reminder of silence,

   the buttons wear with dust,

each click a memory, now gone,

fumbling for names that slip through,

my throat tightens, the air feels thick—

there it lingers, cold as death,

   a promise left unanswered,

   moments don’t always echo back.
