Fractured Decisions

I shattered the vase, what a stunning affair,

anger turned to pieces, laid bare in the air.

Each fragment a story, a curve of my fight,

now cruel little mirrors that catch the light.

In anger’s short flicker, I felt alive then,

but regret took a hold of my heart like a pen.

It skittered like laughter, bounced off the floor,

as I knelt down to gather, I mourned even more.

The shards in the sun reflected back pain,

each razor-sharp edge a reminder of rain.

What’s broken feels heavy, though free in its fall,

it echoes my longing, like losing it all.
