City Treasure

A shimmer catches my eye, between tires and waste,
like a secret forgotten, a soft gleam to taste.
I stand at the gutter, the world swirling round,
a piece of iridescent plastic glitters on ground.
In the muck where the leaves and discarded cups lay,
it twinkles like treasure, pulling my gaze to stay.
Like childhood adventures, where beauty would burst
between cracks in the sidewalk, an oasis to thirst.
What joy can be found in the grime of the street?
Moments alive where the tangled truths meet.
I reach for the glow, feel the magic it brings,
reminding me softly that life still has wings.
