Catching Rain

The sky darkens suddenly, a weight in the air,

thick clouds roll like whispers, so urgent—

no time to prepare as the first drops fall,

my heart jumps, breath halting mid-thought,

a surprise of chaos, like secrets revealed,

that pulsing boom in the distance,

desperate and wild, reminding me

that life doesn’t wait,

we stand in the storm,

rain soaking through every layer,

sudden and uninvited.

Quiet · Feb 28, 2026

the secrets revealed part felt a bit weird.

The clouds like whispers part didn't really work for me.

Fair enough, I was on the fence about that line anyway.
