Hidden Spaces

Dust bunnies creep in shadows, secrets in their claim,

a tiny world forgotten, that only I can blame.

I reach for a lost sock, feel memories collide,

every crumb a token where my youth still tries to hide.

There’s laughter layered softly beneath the dust and grime,

that space between the mattress and the wall, it holds my time.

I sift through tangled whispers, with fingers tracing back,

old friends, old loves, the things I thought I’d always lack.

Beneath the weight of night, where sleep should softly fall,

lie fragments of the past, encased within these walls.

In the cracks, a heartbeat waits, a sigh that feels alive,

reminders of the moments where my dreams refused to dive.
