Daylight and Stone

Light dances softly, casting shades on the stones,

a lilac blooms nearby, its fragrance atones.

Children once played in the quiet of tombs,

now sunlight bleeds laughter where silence looms.

A shadow cast by an angel, arms stretched to the sky,

it beckons the living, to wonder, to cry.

The weight of remembrance drifts lightly on air,

in daylight, they linger, those who once cared.
