Stuck Connections

There’s a corkboard that hangs on the wall,

pinned memories weathered, but I can’t recall.

A postcard from summer, frayed edges and smiles,

tangled threads whispering—love travels in miles.

It quivers with laughter, each thumbtack a fight,

shadows of moments fading into the night.

The snapshots like fireflies, dancing in haze,

remind me of warmth, now caught in a maze.

I clear the old pins, push the pieces around,

shuffling the memories that litter the ground.

How quickly they gather dust, fragments to see,

a collage of echoes from who we used to be.
