Saved Laughter

Your laughter still lingers, a sweet-sounding ghost,

a voice trapped in time, the thing I miss most.

I press on the screen, hear you giggle and tease,

reminders of moments that flicker like leaves.

The cracks on my phone reflect the silence inside,

a fractured connection where warmth used to bide.

But there, in the air, your spirit floats free,

a playful reminder of who we could be.

I hear every whisper, those snippets of light,

a buoy in the dark, a spark in the night.

Though I know time will stretch this distance too wide,

your voice is the thread that still keeps me tied.
