Attention Grabber

Scrolling through photos of a night lost in drinks,

everyone’s laughter echoed like playful winks.

I tried to be silly, a clown in their sight,

but all I could muster were side glances in light.

A wobbly balance on my own two feet,

I juggled my worries as drinks hit the heat.

They stood by the window, so smooth in their grace,

while I tugged at the air, made a fool of my face.

Flashes from screens showed the fun I had missed,

just blurry snapshots of moments dismissed.

A smile frozen in time, not the joy I intended,

yet all that I crave is the warmth that has ended.
