Root-Split

The pavement lifts.

A jagged seam.

Grey, split open

by an unseen dream.

Thin green pushes through.

A stubborn blade.

Ignoring the weight

that was always laid.

My foot catches.

Just a brief stumble.

This earth, it shifts.

It makes the strong crumble.
