Blank Days

October, crisp and stark.

Each square, a silent mark.

No doctor, dentist, friend,

no beginning, no end.

The white, a silent shout.

No reason to go out.

A clean, stark, empty page,

unturning, like a stage.

Just numbers, black and lean.

A quiet, waiting scene.
