Wet Grid

The glass fell clean.

Water spread.

Then the rough yellow thing,

full of my dread,

soaked it all up.

Small holes drink deep.

Darkened, heavy.

Then the squeeze, a weep

of soiled memory.

It goes grey, then clean.
