Laughter a wave that breaks

Laughter, a wave that breaks,

and keeps on breaking.

In the kitchen, a corkscrew aches.

A hand keeps shaking, taking.

The bottle resists, a harsh glint.

Red stain on the counter, bright.

A silent, slow, desperate hint.

My own hands, heavy with night.
