Unraveled Intention

Yarn fell, a slow

tangle from the shelf.

Needles still hooked,

a small, silent self-

reproach. The pattern,

cable complicated, half-done.

Dust on the wood,

a season begun, then undone.

Too much, too soon.

Or not enough will.

It waits for my hands,

motionless still.
