Three Notes

The mall speaker

above the discount jeans.

Just three notes,

then the old scenes.

A quick inhale.

My chest, a sudden fist.

Turned sharp left,

past the scented mist.

My own steps, loud.

The world, a little thin.

The music kept playing.

But I was out, then in.
