Just a Nod

The air changed.

A small shift.

I said it,

simple fact, plain gift.

Your eyes,

a screen door.

Looked through,

then a polite, slow closure.

A nod.

Empty space where words

should land.

A thought, waved off, like a bird.

The air returns.

But something’s

thinner now.

A small truth burns.
