In the shop window I catch my own gaze

In the shop window, I catch my own gaze,

startled reflection, a face lost in haze.

City lights flicker, revealing the strain,

a story of shadows and the weight of my pain.

Who is this person with eyes so unsure?

Each glance pulls a thread, revealing a blur.

I stand for a moment, my breath held tight,

as the world rushes by, consuming the light.
