In the Waiting Room

Anxiety coils tight, like a snake in my chest,
ticking clocks resonate, failing to rest.
A phone buzzed with silence, a promise unspun,
and the weight of the minutes feels heavy, undone.
I sit in cold metal, chair echoes my fears,
each tick a reminder, drawing near the years.
I glance at the paper, the walls painted white,
a sterile reminder of my anxious plight.
Thoughts whirl like leaves in a storm that won’t cease,
waiting for answers that offer no peace.
Will this be the moment, or just another day
of waiting for results that won’t seem to stay?
