Caught in amber light

I found it today, tucked deep in my coat,

a piece of the past that makes my heart float.

Smooth in my palm, it warms like the sun,

a memory captured,

the summer's begun.

Caught in a moment, the sunlight breaks through,

filtering softly, painting everything new.

I trace its edges, a feeling like flight,

how fleeting this life is,

caught in amber light.
