Everything Between Us

We spilled like wine on a late summer night,
under the hum of streetlights, our hearts took flight.
The air thick with longing, a promise unspun,
two bodies ignited, we burned like the sun.
I still feel the whispers of skin against skin,
a spark that ignited the places within.
But memories linger, like smoke in the air,
a frayed condom wrapper left out in despair.
When spring tries to thaw the frost in my chest,
I’m haunted by shadows of moments we blessed.
Each echo of laughter, a bittersweet ghost,
in the spaces between us, I miss you the most.
