New Beginnings

I stand on cold tiles, bare feet gripping tight,

roots in my mind, branching out into night.

A shoot breaks the surface, green against gray,

a hint of resilience, a promise to stay.

Pushing through asphalt, where dreams fade away,

a single sprout rises, defying decay.

Trapped and exposed, yet yearning for light,

reminders that growth comes from struggles and fight.
