Holding It Together

I stepped back today, pride swelling my chest,

a shelf I built, a testament, a quest.

Uneven the legs, but sturdy and true,

it holds all my stories, each weight is a hue.

Hours of measuring, hammering, swearing,

dust motes in sunlight, the triumph of caring.

It stands as a witness to moments, both bold,

a refuge for dreams, in its arms I behold.
