Marked by Disagreement

A thumbprint bruise blooms on my wrist,

a dark reminder, a hurt I can't twist.

Fingers pressed hard, anger that stings,

a flash of betrayal, the weight of lost things.

We shouted our truths like daggers in air,

now silence hangs heavy, thick with despair.

Each glance at the mark pulls me back to that fight,

a friendship that faltered, both wrong and both right.
