A Thing Your Body Does After

After the day ended, my body gave in,

folded in sheets like a secret kept thin.

Every joint ached, a chorus of sighs,

reminders of burdens that rest in disguise.

Sinking down deep, where the world fades away,

wrapped in soft darkness, I yield to the sway.

In the hush of the night, my body finds peace,

a moment of stillness, where chaos can cease.
