A Voicemail You Saved

I found your laughter, a melody locked,

a voicemail I saved when everything shocked.

Your voice like a postcard, a memory’s claim,

sent from a moment when I was the same.

Every pause like a heartbeat, each word wrapped in time,

a time capsule resting, our laughter a rhyme.

I press play, close my eyes, and drift back to then,

when the world felt less heavy, and we were just friends.
