Corrugated Woes

The fence sways like doubt in the wind,

a rusted spine bending against the gray,

each wave a reminder of chaos,

each corrugation holds yesterday’s weight,

my laundry basket cradles unease,

a delicate balance of fabric and thoughts,

all tangled—like wires across the street,

trapped beneath something hard and jagged.

The sky, a heavy blanket stretched too tight,

drapes over everything that can't find peace,

my worries pressed like the folds,

even the air whispers discontent,

climbing higher only brings the ache

of knowing how the world can bend,

into the shape of something used to feel safe.
