Zipped in Silence

The television flickers, a scene so stark,

the zipper unravels in the midst of the dark.

A sharp, chilling sound, it cuts through the night,

as images haunt me, a grasp on my fright.

It echoes, it lingers, tattooed in my mind,

reminders of loss that I cannot unbind.

A zip of finality, a closure so tight,

a somber refrain woven deep in my fright.
