Today on the bus hands wrapped tight

Today, on the bus, hands wrapped tight

around cold metal, the world shut out,

as the doors slammed, barriers to what’s real.

A stranger stumbled, laughter like sunlight,

bursting through the dull, as fleeting moments

changed the trajectory of a mundane day.

My ticket crumpled underfoot, forgotten

as connection sparked in shared surprise,

a reminder that life can shift with a touch.
