Words dropped too late

Your voice trembles

across cracked glass,

a voicemail faded

like the rain tapping my window.

Years lie heavy,

words sinking slow,

trembling regret

too late to stitch the silence.

I hold the phone tight,

a fractured link,

a message drowning

where no answer waits.
