The atlas is jammed in the back of the drawer

The atlas is jammed in the back of the drawer,

a paper ghost of a different shore.

The yellow marker is a faded streak

leading to a town I don't want to seek.

The creases are white and the corners are torn,

folded back against the way they were born.

I don't know which way is out anymore.
