Finality's Sound

The television flickered, cold black and white,

the sound of a zipper split silence that night.

It lingered like shadows, chilling the room,

a finality echoed, a brush with the gloom.

Reality paused, a heartbeat forgot,

that zipper—a marker of all that is not.

In the stillness that followed, my breath held its place,

etched in my mind, a haunting embrace.
