Heavy Gifts

Wrapped in bright paper, with ribbons tied tight,

a book full of wisdom, a gift of delight.

Yet guilt was the weight that pulled me down low,

feeling unworthy of gifts that should glow.

He thought I was lost, needing a map,

while I felt a thief in this joyful trap.

Each page held a promise, yet felt like a lie,

a mirror reflecting the questions—why?
