Stalled Journeys

Engines hum softly, a collective sigh,

red lights like fireflies blink in the sky.

Time stretches thin as I sit here alone,

thoughts racing forward, but I’m stuck like a stone.

In this jam, I sift through the cluttered mind,

dreams lost in the shuffle, each one left behind.

Where am I heading? I can’t see the way,

just a line of cars in the end of the day.

I ponder the choices, the paths I let fade,

in the stillness, my worries begin to cascade.

A journey postponed, as the city lights gleam,

these moments of pause—where I find my dream.
