Lost Words

I found it crumpled in the bin,

scents of cologne still trapped within.

Fingers trembling, I reached for the weight,

where inked confessions met twisted fate.

Words spilled out, my heart in a mess,

wrapped in paper, so heavy to press.

Tossed aside like yesterday’s news,

now a reminder of love that I lose.

With each line read, the memories clash,

I trace the edges, all the moments flash.

A note of goodbye, or was it a plea?

I can’t tell now, but I dug it for me.
