The email hit my box today,

subject line so stark and plain.

'Your Subscription' — gone away.

No more watching in the rain.


No fanfare, no loud goodbye,

just an automated, cold hard fact.

Another thing I let just die,

another paper thin contract.


The queue, it sits there, empty now.

Forgot the password, I suppose.

A small severing, somehow.

Just another door that closed.
