Staring at my reflection disbelief in my eyes

Staring at my reflection, disbelief in my eyes,

a haircut that haunts me, a truth I despise.

Like a crow with a comb-over, what was I thinking?

Each snip of the scissors left my self-esteem sinking.

The photo resurfaces, a reminder of shame,

a moment of bad judgment, the wrong kind of fame.

In the window, I see it, the memory lurks,

every fringe and mishap, just hard, cruel works.
