Unseen Noise

The television hummed all night,

a drone beneath sleep’s fragile walls.

Static ghosts in every room,

lights flickering without calls.

Candy wrappers crushed in corners,

forgotten snacks under bed,

these quiet rituals hidden

in the background of what was said.

Now silence stings sharper,

replacing constant sound,

and the absence fills the cracks

where safety was once found.
