After the Rain

I stepped outside, the world wore gray,

the sky spilled secrets, washing life away.

Gutters filled with stories, twisted and torn,

dark leaves caught in chaos, their beauty reborn.

A swirl of plastic, of trash floating free,

a dance of reflections, streetlights agree.

Each ripple a whisper of night’s heavy sigh,

while I stood there, wondering, as raindrops reply.
